Behold the power of libraries

On July 21, 2018, Forbes published an op-ed piece in which the author (an economist) suggested that libraries were no longer relevant, and should be replaced by Amazon book stores.  The online backlash from librarians and library patrons was swift and furious.

Within days, Forbes stated that “Libraries play an important role in our society. This article was outside of this contributor’s specific area of expertise, and has since been removed.”
