Thank you to all candidates for volunteering to run.
2025 President-Elect Candidate Hayley Severson:
My name is Hayley Severson, I am the Clinical Services Librarian at Children’s Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin. I have been with MCW as a medical librarian for nearly three years and my favorite part of my position is the daily challenge of navigating complex biomedical information to best assist providers, students, and families with making their health-related decisions. My professional organization experiences include serving as a member-at-large for WHSLA for the past two years, and I am also the chair of the Continuing Education Subcommittee for the Midwest Chapter of MLA Annual Conference Planning Committee. As an early-career professional, I relish looking for new opportunities to collaborate with colleagues outside my institution from whom I have a lot to learn regarding becoming a more efficient information professional, an inclusive instructor, and a better leader in library promotion and outreach.
2025 Member-At-Large Candidate Michelle Harrell:
Michelle Harrell is the MCW Libraries' Assistant Director for Public Services and Education. She earned a Master's in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s (UWM) School of Information Studies (SOIS) and was honored as a Distinguished Alumna in 2017 as part of the UWM SOIS' 50th Anniversary Celebration. Her experience as a library leader and administrator is varied, including serving as director for both the Office of Diversity, and the Office of Literacy and Outreach Services at the American Library Association in Chicago. Michelle also served as the MCW Libraries’ Public Services Librarian from 2009-2013.
Michelle's areas of interest include health equity, information fluency, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEI+B) in academic libraries. She has been named a Fellow for 2022-2023 in the National Library of Medicine and Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries Leadership Fellows Program.
2025 Member-At-Large Candidate Will White:
Will White is the Health Sciences Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He provides research support for students and faculty within the Joseph J. Zilber College of Public Health, College of Health Professions and Sciences, and Department of Biological Sciences. He serves on the library's Scholarly Communication Team and the campus-wide Chancellor's Advisory Committee for LGBTQ+ Advocacy. Will is a 2024 WHSLA Professional Development Award Recipient.
