Second post in our blog series showcasing how WHSLA members and their libraries responded to serving our users in creative ways during COVID-19.
Marshfield Clinic Health System: The physical Library was closed at the end of March through the middle
of August. Two staff were furloughed at 100% during this
time. Reference librarians were furloughed at 50%. Brian and Deb
worked every other week so that there was always one librarian available for
literature searches and other reference needs. All staff are
currently back at 100% and most are working in the physical library. Deb
continues working mostly remotely.
Brian and Deb being creative, contacted Communications services for assistance to get the word out about library services.
The Library was assigned a
communications staff member to liaise with the library
and continuing promoting it. One thought is to create a Facebook group, off the Marshfield Clinic Health System Facebook page, for library patrons. This option is currently being discussed. We are also discussing having a professional video created about library, staff, resources and services available.
