Baugh Biomedical Library on Thursday, October 26th at 1pm Central as we host a virtual live book discussion and Q&A with author Dr. Brian Miller about his book “Empty Sleeves: Amputation in the Civil War South.” In this highly original and deeply researched work, Miller explores the ramifications of amputation on the Confederacy both during and after the Civil War and sheds light on how dependency and disability reshaped southern society.
